about the artist
"When we are bursting with some wordless experience, Art is our voice, the song of our heart" - Richard Schmid
As an artist, based in Central California, I am grateful to be living amongst the rich agricultural backdrop of the region. Inspiration for paintings come from my daily walks through the vibrant fields and ever-changing seasons of the Central Valley’s fruit trees and ag land.
Whether painting landscapes or still-lifes, I strive to tell a story by highlighting the beauty of God’s creation or the uniqueness of everyday objects through vibrant color and the effect of light.
I believe that art can promote understanding and compassion. Specifically with my portraits, I hope to provide a window into the beauty and spirit of precious but forgotten people living in extreme poverty, telling their story emphasizing faith, hope, and the indomitable nature of the human spirit, to bring a voice to the voiceless and make the invisible, visible. .
75% of profits of any painting sold are donated to the non-profit organization "When I Grow Up", (www.whenigrowupglobal.com) where they seek to empower children living in extreme poverty in Kenya, Haiti, & Guatemala.
